Circle Library Garden Party

The Circle Library Garden Party which took place on Friday 16th July 2010 was held inside the Library due to the weather being wet and windy! Jean Crossby, Chair of the Circle Resident Associations commented " We thought the weather would have been kinder to us at this time of year to hold the party outside as planned, but there was a quick change of plan due to wet and windy conditions". Despite the weather conditions, a good time was had by all, where there was a glorious spread laid on by Wandle Valley School. Guests to the Garden Party included Doug Bone, Headmaster of Wandle Valley, Tom Brake MP, Cllr Paddy Kane, and a visit from the Gaynesford Lodge Day Centre, not forgetting of course our fine members of the Circle Residents Association! New faces were also encouraged, and able to sign up to become a member of the Circle Residents Association. Take a look at our photos of another successful event!

Box bathrooms programme 2009
After an 18 month gap Sutton Housing Partnership has installed the first of nearly 800 box bathrooms in St Helier. SHP has been working with its partners and residents during this time to find ways to increase production and to improve upon the original design. The new bathroom pod has been designed with the help of the resident steering group, who also visited the new manufacturing plant in Newbury Wilts and selected the interior finishes. Using a large crane, the old bathroom is removed and the new unit lifted into position in exactly the same way that they were originally installed in the 1960’s. Local firm 777 take the old bathroom pod away and are able to recycle nearly 95% of the materials which is better for the environment. Once installed the bathroom is fully functional after a matter of hours.
