News from the Sutton Community Challenge – Got a great idea to improve your community in Sutton? We can help you get launched!
Hello, I work for Sutton-based sustainability charity BioRegional. We help others develop One Planet solutions – products and services that enable people to lead happy, healthy lives, within a fair share of the earth’s resources. Sutton aspires to become a One Planet borough by 2025. WE want to help YOU get your ideas off the ground to help make this vision a reality.
We are running a Sutton Community Challenge, inviting Sutton community groups and schools to enter ideas to improve Sutton’s environment and green spaces and contribute to at least one of the ten principles of One Planet Living (e.g. local food, energy saving, culture, health). The deadline for applications is April 29th. An application pack is attached and more information can be found at: www.oneplanetsutton.org/communitychallenge.
Ten shortlisted entries will be supported to develop and promote their project, and three of these will later be selected by public vote to receive further practical support from BioRegional to help their projects launch. Over the coming weeks, we’re offering support to get ideas ‘application-ready’. If you or your community group have an idea you’ve been wanting to implement but haven’t found the right time or support, please get in touch to discuss how we and the challenge can help.
We’ll invite you to a Community Challenge Ideas Cafe next month at BedZED to match-make ideas and prepare applications. You will meet and network with fellow candidates, learn about fundraising and communications, receive feedback and build support for your project, and get tips on completing your application. Please find an application form listed in the attachments below!
