A working group has been formed to seek ways of providing a credit union for anyone living

or working in Croydon, Merton or Sutton, based on the current Croydon Savers Credit Union, founded in 1999. The credit union is a not for profit financial co-operative committed to encouraging people to save rather than borrow, but also provides low cost loans in times of

need. The credit union provides a real alternative to loan sharks and a secure place to put

savings as a real ethical investment.

To extend services from Croydon to include Merton and Sutton we need to convince the

regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA), that there is a demand for the service. To

show support for the creation of the new credit union we are seeking as many people as
